If you love to see animals or have children, the Woodland Park Zoo is a great place to go in Seattle. One of the nicest things about the Woodland Park Zoo is that most of the animals are behind windows rather than fences or bars. It’s great for taking photos and you get to see some of the animals closer than if they were behind a fence. The Woodland Park Zoo is quite large so you’ll be doing a lot of walking. Ladies you definitely do not want to be wearing heels to the zoo ;)
It’s really interesting to see a giraffe from close by. It’s hard to get a sense of scale when you see animals on tv, so seeing them up close can really give you some perspective. They also have peculiar tongues!
Did you know that hippos are actually very aggressive? Hippos remind me of the sweet ballerina hippos from Fantasia so I was a little surprised to hear that they kill more humans than any other mammal! Especially considering that they’re vegetarians!
